Make secure delivery the default path

DevSecOps works when secure choices are built into the route teams already use. Provide maintained build templates, dependency and secret scanning, signed artifacts, minimal runtime permissions, and a clear way to request an exception. Do not ask each team to assemble these controls from a wiki during a release.

Prioritization is essential. Findings should include reachability, exploitability, ownership, and the affected deployment context. A huge unranked vulnerability backlog does not reduce risk; it only creates noise. Pair detection with service-level remediation expectations and a mechanism to learn from repeat findings.

Evidence worth retaining

Keep the reviewable build record, artifact digest, policy outcome, deployment approval, and rollback evidence. This supports incident response and audit work without turning daily delivery into manual compliance theatre.
